About Mallaig

Mallaig is a fishing port of about 1000 people, situated some 150 miles north of Glasgow, Scotland. It offers ferry services to Canna, Eigg, Muck and Rum (Inner Hebrides); as well as Lochboisdale (Outer Hebrides) and Armadale (Isle of Skye).

Getting to Mallaig Ferry Port

By Car

From Fort William, follow the A830 for 42.6 miles. At the roundabout, take the 3rd exit onto Station Rd/B8008.Continue onto E Bay towards Mallaig Harbour.

By Train

You can travel by train from Fort William to Mallaig. The train station is a 5 minute walk to the ferry terminal.

By Bus

Local buses at bus stop opposite tourist information - 5 minutes walk.

There is no café or bar at the terminal itself but some are within a 5 minute walk from the terminal.

Disabled Facilities

There are disabled toilets, access to the terminal building and lifts.

Terminal Opening Hours

The terminal is open Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Sunday from 08:10 to 16:00 and Tuesday and Saturday 08:10 to 18:15 during the winter. During the summer, the terminal is open from 07:30 to 18:00 Monday to Friday , from 07:00 to 18:00 Saturday and from 08:00 to 18:00 Sunday.
